🚨 Mega CDR Deal Alert for 2.95 million tonnes! 🚨

🤝 Denmark-based Gaia ProjectCo, a joint venture between Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Vestforbrænding, has signed a long-term agreement with Microsoft for 2.95 million tonnes of CDR.

This marks one of the first long term multi-year offtakes signed for a retrofit of carbon capture storage at a waste-to-energy facility.

⬇ The offtake agreement will enable Gaia to capture and store up to 500,000 tonnes of biogenic and fossil CO2 per year.

🚚 As per the agreement, the tonnes will be delivered from 2029.

🆕 This is Gaia's first recorded CDR deal on CDR.fyi to date.
