🚨 Mega CDR Deal Alert for 3.6M tonnes! 🚨

C2X has signed an agreement with Microsoft for 3.6 million tonnes of carbon removal, marking one of the largest durable carbon removal deals to date.

🌳 The credits will be generated from C2X's Beaver Lake project in Louisiana, designed to convert locally sourced forestry residues into bio-methanol and biogenic CO2 that will be subsequently captured.

🚚 The tonnes will be delivered over 12 years.

💼 C2X estimates that the project (with an investment of $2.5 billion) will create up to 1,150 construction jobs, and more than 600 direct and indirect jobs in the local community when fully operational.

☑ The credits generated will be issued on an ICROA-endorsed registry.

📊 This deal constitutes ~10.43% of the total tonnes contracted by Microsoft so far.

📈 The agreement has brought the total durable CDR tonnes contracted to date over the 40M mark, now standing at 42.4M tonnes.

🆕 This is C2X’s first deal recorded on CDR.fyi, and it takes them to 6th on the CDR.fyi Suppliers Leaderboard.

🔝 With over 34.5M tonnes in purchases to date, Microsoft further secures its top position on the CDR.fyi Purchasers Leaderboard.
